I didn t enjoy this book as much as I liked Virgins by the same author, but thanks to a train ride, I finished it in just two days and was interested in the story the whole time The premise that a VietNam vet and former flower child protester are sleeping together didn t seem to be as big of a controversy in the story as it did in the bookjacket preview, but there was a good insight into the early days of itentifying PTSD and how it can affect relationships But despite this unfunny topic, the to [...]

He s a Vietnam War Vet and she s the president of a college and a pacifist who protested against the war They are a great combination I read this long ago after thoroughly enjoying Virgins It was very good with lots of humor I was always surprised that River s books didn t receive wider readership.


    3. A very good story about the aftermath of the Vietnam conflict, concentrating on the relationship of an amputated veteran dealing with severe PTSD and a pacifist.
