    4. The Girls of Tonsil Lake is like Sex and the City Without the sex And without the city And without all that angst OK, so it s not anything at all like Sex and the City But there ARE four female friends These four friends have been BFFs since their dicey childhood in a downscale trailer community on the seedy Tonsil Lake, so named because it looks like a tonsil They scrabbled their way out of that life into lives of what passes for normalcy these days, and this is their story.OK, let me ask you a [...]

    5. What a wonderful, wonderful book The Girls of Tonsil Lake tells the story of four fifty something women who have been friends since growing up together in a run down trailer park on the shore of Tonsil Lake in rural Indiana They laugh together, cry together, and help each other through the potentially devastating challenges life throws at us all in middle age I haven t cried while reading a book in years, but only a stone could remain dry eyed through this one These characters will stay with me [...]

    6. Never before have I known within the first chapter of a book that a I was going to love it, and b I absolutely had to write a review to let other women know how amazing this story is.I truly adored this book Being a Hoosier myself, it was incredibly easy to be right there with Jean, Andie, Suzanne and Vin Each character was so well developed, as were the secondary characters I can t recall reading a story that hit me on so many emotional levels before, and I savored every single page.A wonderful [...]

    7. A fantastic five hankie women s fiction read from Liz Flaherty The girls are all middle aged women, bound by their hardscrabble upbringing in rural Indiana, who have been through the trial and tribulations of life together With a little sprinkling of romance and lots of relatable moments about motherhood, work, and friendship, this is the book for you if you like well written, emotional books about women old enough to remember the first time bell bottoms were popular.

    8. I absolutely adored this book Loved how the friendship between 4 women endured well into their 50s and how their husbands, ex husbands, children, and grandchildren supported them through thick and thin Toward the end, I had a hard time putting it down, and cried over two deaths not main characters , and laughed with the humorous parts I can only hope my own friendships will endure and be this rich in the coming years Well done, Liz

    9. I LOVE this book I don t know how many times I have read it but it is my go to comfort read as well as a bridge book when nothing strikes my interest but I want to read something This is the story of 4 women in their early 50 s who have know each other since they were kids Their past has kept them connected to one another but the events of the book are bringing them closer together These are 4 women I would love to be friends with

    10. I loved this story Loved it 4 women friends for life Each so unique, full of flaws and beauty and character These women learned much about themselves and each other over the course of the story, and came out stronger for the journey through a difficult time in their lives I highly recommend it

    11. WonderfulThis is a wonderful story. You like all of the characters.Well Sue is hard to deal with but she does redeem herself in the end.
