    About "Stephanie Laurens"

    1. Stephanie Laurens

Stephanie Laurens was born in Sri Lanka, which was at the time the British colony of Ceylon When she was 5, her family moved to Melbourne, Australia, where she was raised After continuing through school and earning a Ph.D in Biochemistry in Australia, Stephanie and her husband moved to Great Britain, taking one of the last true overland journeys from Katmandu to London.Once in London, Stephanie and her husband both began work as research scientists in Kent They lived in an area surrounded by history Their own cottage was built in the 16th century, while next door were the protected ruins of an early Roman villa, and nearby was a 14th century castle. After four years in England, Stephanie and her husband returned to Australia, where she continued to work in cancer research, eventually heading her own research laboratory One evening Stephanie realized that she did not have any of her favorite romance novels to read After years of thinking about writing her own novel, during nights and weekends for the next several months, she began crafting her own story That manuscript, Tangled Reins, was the first of her books to be published After achieving a level of success with her novels, Stephanie retired from scientific research and became a full time novelist Her novels are primarily historical romances set in the Regency time period.Stephanie and her husband live on peaceful acreage on the outskirts of Melbourne If she isn t writing, she s reading, and if she s not reading, she s tending her garden.

    1. At Her BestI love the way Stephanie writes this particular storyline, of childhood love fulfilled She has a way of getting the best out of the characters, unleashing their wilfulness and passion through spectacularly pithy dialogue and heated physicality.

    2. This was a wonderful, hot novella I was reading another novel that wasn t grabbing me so I decided to read this since Stephanie Laurens never disappoints me.d that was sure the case with this one A very romantic, fast paced story featuring mature main characters Loved it

    3. Short and steamyFiona and Dyan are great characters I loved them Fiona is at a friend s house to protect her friend The recently returned Ryan is running away from family and responsibility They were childhood friends He knows how racy the party will be and tries to protect Fiona The steam starts there in the 2nd chapter when he realizes she only melts for him and she is all he wants and needs The rest of the story is how he works to convince her of this with lots of seductive persuasion There a [...]

    4. I didn t really like this, I found it really clich d, the plot was predictable and the characters were one dimensional It also felt rapey, one of the other characters said Fiona had to choose who to have sex with and kind implied that someone was having sex with her that night regardless of the fact she d made her lack of interest very clear, Dyan was there and did save her but it felt like a morality story where it s the girls fault she got raped because she shouldn t have been there Dyan also [...]

    5. I bought this book in the Romance Story Bundle on StoryBundle to try a new genre Needless to say, I was really disappointed. This novella read like a work of erotic fan fiction, straight from a woman s sexual fantasy That isn t to say that this is a bad thing, but it s certainly not my cup of tea The plot was predictable from start to finish, and the characters were so uninteresting that I found myself creating backstories for them The only redeeming quality is that a character would sometimes s [...]

    6. I enjoy most everything Stephanie Laurens writes and this was no exception, but it was pretty formulaic It also felt a little disconnected because unlike many of her novels these characters had no connection to other characters in her wider fictional world Dyan and Fiona were humorous to read about.

    7. The plot is too simple, it s like erotica then historical romance I don t find any connections to the story Nothing to compare to Susan Johnson or Beatrice Small I think her Rose In Bloom novella much better story The romance is sweet and you feel the characters are much alive.

    8. A novella which I found to be better than some of her books written in the last couple of years Love the interaction between MCs.

    9. Absolutely love Stephanie Laurens I read this one in a couple of hours She is wonderful at grabbing your attention and holding it to the very end.
