    1. One of the most powerful statements I found in this book was this, Please forgive me, I have been using this against me, I will not do this again It is the judgement against others when in fact it is a statement against ourselves Forgiveness is the one of the most powerful action, next to gratitude that brings people into the enlighten state and to their highest potential Good reading to release or understand the amount we are vested in the story we are telling to ourselves and others I gained g [...]

    2. A definite must read for any academic, politician, andanyone really. We sometimes take on beliefs of others out of pressure to conform Beliefs that are true for others might not be true for us and end up hurting us in the long run Ruiz helps us understand the levels of attachment to our beliefs one level at a time while pointing out when attachment becomes a habitual pattern that cannot be broken He offers a couple of meditations to help move beyond attachments by way of forgiving our self and ot [...]

    3. This book was chosen by a book club group I was asked to join At first, I thought it would be a yawn as I find most self help books a bit too opinionated and based on one person s perspective However, I was excited to be included in a book discussion, so I put aside my pre conceived ideas and started reading Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised, as it contained ancient wisdom that can be applied logically to our chaotic world Ironically, the main content was about putting aside your own opini [...]

    4. Miguel Ruiz Jr offers the world ancient wisdom in a fresh, clean voice.I loved this book Millions have read his father s books Four Agreements, Mastery of Love , and Miguel Ruiz Jr puts meat on the bones for seekers who desire to integrate those lessons deeply. This book is intellectually stimulating but made accessible with practical examples and stories from the author s journey.I will quote from this book and recommend it to many of my friends.

    5. The statement that stood out for me most sums it up When I believe something must stay in its rightful place, exactly as it is, for me to be OK, I have become attached to it, I have confused this external thing with who I am.

    6. I was turned off by the introduction Perhaps I am too attached to certain tropes in my way of thinking, particularly in having enough self pride to dismiss much of the intro as merely inner worries or at most neuroticism My main criticism is that it doesn t tell us what they consider truth, and what they consider merely an attachment There appears to be a large attachment in the belief of love and goodness in such that it is alright to have a huge attachment towards that I wasn t able to tell if [...]

    7. Having read some of Toltec Wisdom, I was expecting from Miguel Ruiz Jr That is somewhat ironical to the theme presented in this book I really did like the metaphor of football soccer to illustrate the different levels of attachment Ruiz Jr does a great job showing how to shift from one attachment state to another Although, I don t really agree with the statement that everyone wants to be part of a group, that seemed to me a paradox to the whole theme It did however made me question, which the a [...]

    8. In the past I have likened the Toltec teachings to a spiritual toolkit This is an excellent addition to that kit.I ve been studying, practicing, and sometimes teaching this Toltec stuff for a very long time, for the simple reasons that it has brought my life out of chaos and introduced order and fun to it The Five Levels of Attachment brings new insights to the old stuff, but is entirely consonant with it The levels apply to one s attitude about everything one really cares about And the virtue o [...]

    9. This was actually an eye opener, unlike your secret and other.muff.Very plain yet profound Don Ruiz Miguel santos Montoya del ariibaa El cancun Mexico para guacamole Eloquently wrote this baby with an open heart and mind. From when I read this book it has never left my mind, and I live witnessing this everyday Go on and read it.I repeat this is not the secret s something oh crap spoilers Alrightrightwell go on and read it

    10. Nothing here I hadn t already heard before At times, it was a nice reminder, but I wouldn t recommend reading the book as there are so many out there that say the same thing and are better reads.

    11. I loved this book I found it to have valuable insights I learned a lot Ruiz Jr s writing style resonates w me a lot than his father s It feels a little weird to rate a book like this.

    12. My favorite thing about this book and The Four Agreements is the straight forward way the author explains concepts that make you say well, of course I should do that but are often difficult to put into action Attachment to our beliefs and identity aka agreements we ve made with ourselves based on our experiences and knowledge impacts how we choose to live whether or not those agreements are still true We may find ourselves struggling, flighting, arguing with others and with ourselves to maintain [...]

    13. Reminds me a bit of Castaneda books I read a decade ago Its a decent book for understanding why its not good to get too stuck in anything in life People not being aware and even ignoring their own biases is my pet peeve and this book touched on this subject strongly My main concern is that people who truly need a perspective of toltec wisdom or something alike are probably not willing to change their views simply by reading this book I also wish the book was a bit less abstract and could explain [...]

    14. Every politician, business person, and religious leader ought to read this book and then maybe we would have a better world This book is full of nuggets of wisdom Here are a few Listening to what others say without giving their words power over us allows us to become aware of our own truth When we have self respect, we do not take what other people say and do personally Without respect for the freedom of choice, peace is not possible You are worthy of your own forgiveness, as much as you are wor [...]

    15. A different way of presenting the notion that we operate from a false sense of self, and that our attachment to various external concepts of ourselves is what creates this false sense As we mature, we hopefully learn what is really NOT ourselves and begin to operate and from something Higher which we have within us and which needs to outside approval or attachment.

    16. Every word is powerful I am still speechless at this moment because all my mind is busy looking at myself which level am I When I impose my beliefs on others When I take all the yeses of my marriage When I internalised something at work I borrowed this book from the library and need to return it today But I definitely need to have it back again I love Miguel Ruiz.

    17. Worth reading again There is so much information here that I will likely need to read this book several times before I can grasp it all I have no doubt that doing so will help me to live a contented life.

    18. Deep, thought provoking and at times invoked emotions I highly recommend reading all of Miguel s teachings I would even go so far as to say that it should be required reading in school.

    19. Everyone on the planet should read this book It teaches you to remove all the layers of your attachments and connect with your authentic self I know too many people who have no idea what their authentic self is and what it does for them.

    20. Our life is a canvas, and we are all Picassos Turn inward and accept, not judge A must read for self observation and letting go of that which does not give us health Inspiring to read and reread.

    21. Amazing book I have read at least 3x nowhaving just left a very controlling religion this was very helpful for me to understand not only myself but my family as well The awakening of your free will There comes a point in life when we get tired of needing to be right, especially when we see how this ego feeding need affects our relationships with people who just want to be our friends, with the beautiful souls who just wanted to love us Our attachments don t let us see further than the tips of ou [...]

    22. Ten years or so ago, I read a couple of Don Miguel Ruiz Sr s books the Four Agreements and the Voice of Knowledge, IIRC and only realized after I started reading that this is written by his son I wasn t disappointed, though, as Junior s style and content are consistent with that of his father.I m always refreshed to encounter philosophy that is neither entirely eastern nor entirely western, but is its own thing Much of the book is centered on how our drive to create narratives and to cling to de [...]

    23. I don t want to be attachedt to the records which have significant, compromised glitchese H.A.L and S from 2010 nor to any point of view Being able to shift your perspective with fluidity is essential for travel in time One must remember with out being retentive This year, now is the time for forgiveness Our intent has to be stronger than any a priori Our focus and meditation while single pointed with fidelity so as not to be carried away with delusion also must not become fixated or obsessed Em [...]

    24. Rating 3.5 5 starsThis was an enjoyable read It was not quite what I expected but like with all books that deal with life concepts I took out what meant something to me and left behind that which did not resonate with what I believe There are some great concepts in the book I think I expected something along the lines of the Four Agreements I enjoyed learning about the attachments and where the different levels are applied in my own life If you enjoy spiritual reads, this is a quick snack It is [...]

    25. I have enjoyed all of the books in this Toltec tradition as told by the Ruiz family Most famously in _The Four Agreements_ The books are elegant in their simplicity, yet they contain powerful ideas This book I read the hardcover version talks about how we lose our true selves when we wear our beliefs as masks Unchecked and unquestioned, we can allow those beliefs to color every single decision we make If allowed to become completely out of balance, we could allow these beliefs to become so ossif [...]

    26. Loads of wisdom here, but this may be my favorite part of the book I will never know what it feels like to be you I cannot know what it feels like to be in your body I will never know, for example, what coffee tastes like when you drink it I can only know this from my point of view I am alone I was born alone, and I will die alone There is no one else living in this body, and there is no one seeing life through my eyes Your beliefs, and your beliefs alone, belong to you You are the only one who [...]
