    1. TRIGGER WARNING This book contains marital rape This started off kind of like Companions of the Night by Vivian Vande Velde, or Sunshine by Robin McKinley but not nearly as interesting or well written just clich s everywhere Then it took a weird turn into Pretty woman without the whole being a prostitute thing Gideon, the vampire, just treats Kay, the werewolf, to masseuses, manicures, shopping trips, all the while romancing her with red roses everywhere she goes To be honest, it was just weird [...]

    2. One of the worst books I have ever read The story was boring and it repeated itself throughout the entire book I believe this book doesn t deserved to be even rated but I like the cover so I will give it some points

    3. This book takes off running from the very beginning Amanda Ashley does not waste any time getting straight to the good stuff I swear so much happens in this book it s like two or three books in one There are no really big epic battles but there is plenty of turmoil and strife to keep you entertained from beginning to end Gideon and Kay find each other early on in the book and fall into their romance pretty quickly however, it doesn t feel like insta love These two go through a lot together in a [...]

    4. Reviewed by CrystalBook provided by the publisher for reviewReview originally posted at Romancing the BookDesire The Night was a book that I just couldn t put down.Gideon is a vampire that is over three hundred and sixty years old, but that doesn t stop him from being bested by an evil witch named Verah She keeps him in her basement tied with silver chains and only gives him enough blood to keep him alive after finding a spell that required vampire blood His blood allows her to stay young but sh [...]

    5. I received this book from Kensington for an honest review Gideon a vampire had been locked up by a witch in order for her to use his blood to keep her young She keeps him supplied with girls to keep him from dying He tries his best to keep from feeding from them but he cant control his self The witch captures Kay and locks her in with Gideon not realizing Kay is different from the other girls She is part werewolf As they make their escape together they try to hide from the witch who doesn t want [...]

    6. I have said it before and I will say it again, Amanda Ashley writes the best vampire romance I have always enjoyed her books One of the main reasons her books are so enjoyable, is because she takes us back to the true vampire romance with not a sparkly vampire in sight.Gideon has been held captive by an evil witch who uses his blood for money, youth and beauty The witch gives him females to feed off of, but he fights it because Gideon is not evil He doesn t want to hurt these women even though h [...]

    7. Amanda Ashley has pulled from all the corners of her imagination to bring readers Desire the Night the latest release in her paranormal romance series, filled with vampires, witches, werewolves and of course romance Gideon Marquet, a vampire held prisoner by an unscrupulous witch named Vera as a source for her own means, rues the so long ago night he fell captive to her enchantment Gideon s existence is one of constant agony by both the bonds that hold him and the unmerciful actions he must reso [...]

    8. You would think after 360 years as a vampire Gideon Marquet would be too clever to fall into a witch s trap Now he sits locked in a cage, bound in silver chains, being used as Verah s own fountain of youth He had long ago stopped killing humans to feed his need for blood, but since Verah nearly starves him while taking his blood, his hunger is now too great to stop being the monster humans fear But his latest dinner offering is quite different from the usual human fare given to him, she is a wer [...]

    9. Desire The Night by Amanda Ashley has everything going for it an amazing title, an awesome cover, and even though it s YA, it s a paranormal read What could you ask for Hmm well a lot .As I mentioned above, Desire The Night is a YA read though I didn t know that when I started reading LOL But, when I got to the first sex scenes I took a step back, thinking the author really rushed over things AND when I got to a sexxy scene I had been waiting the whole book for, and it was done in a 1950 s fade [...]

    10. 2.5After the ups and downs suffered while reading DESIRE THE NIGHT, I m going to call this an okay read and leave it at that This is the first Amanda Ashley book that didn t set my world on fire and that really saddens me I never thought I wouldn t enjoy one of her vampire books, but the vampire werewolf storyline just didn t work One thing I felt missing was the old, powerful, worldly male vampire Gideon Marquet just wasn t that dark, brooding vampire that took control and made his presence kno [...]

    11. Wow.Ummwell, wow.First, I ll admit I did NOT know this was YA when I started it But that s no excuse because honestly I feel like its an insult to young readers to assume they don t won t find the actions of these characters to be childish and just plain stupid like I did Talk about redundant These two people end up in some ridiculous loop where they are repeating the same actions over and over, and expecting different results I kept thinking that maybe if they didn t spend every waking moment l [...]

    12. This is my first time reading a book by this author I must say, I m really impressed and will definitely be reading by her One can t go wrong with a book about a vampire, werewolf and witches This author draws you in and keeps you captivated while following the love that is unfolding between Kiya and Gideon They first meet when an old witch, who has been keeping Gideon captive for years so she could drink his blood to stay young and beautiful, brings Kiya home after drugging her, and locking he [...]

    13. Though this book was enjoyable I found the constant running around in circles that the storyline followed left me quite dizzy I enjoyed the characters, Gideon and Kiya but the fact that these two were captured and then escaped about four times to be a bit tiring I also didn t like that one of main bad characters in this book had an, to put it simply a highly predictable and anticlimactic end Though Desire The Night had its potential and a couple of good characters I feel that the story could hav [...]

    14. It was ok until about 2 3 through Then I had a WTH moment followed by a You are such a DUMB A moment followed by a You are so the naked girl checking the basement in a Freddie Movie to a WTF This can get worse and last a I wasted a day for this SH T So get this A witch has a vampire captive She throws in a girl who unbenonced to her is a werewolf He loves her She helps him escape They travel together to end up back at her pack where she has an assh le father who is forcing her into a marriage to [...]

    15. Wow, it usually doesn t take me almost a month to read just one book In my defense I ve been pretty busy Because of everything going on I may not have been in the reading mood so I m convinced that under normal circumstances I would have liked this book a little With that being said I ll continue on to my opinions. This book felt like two books or novellas that got squeezed together The first half or part of this book is about the vampire Gideon and the witch that is holding him captive Kay who [...]

    16. This is my third book by Amanda Ashley I know I can count on her books for a light hearted supernatural romance Desire the Night caught my attention right off the back, because in many supernatural lore and stories the vampires and werewolves are not getting along together, much less romancing each other It is an entertaining paranormal romance starring two intrepid warriors falling in forbidden love While Ashley s novel takes on a different version of vampire turning into mist, transfiguration [...]

    17. Desire the Night starts out being about a vampire who is held hostage by a witch for his blood and female werewolf whom the witch kidnaps to feed the vampire, but this situation is quickly wrapped up and the story becomes about the werewolves fight to become alpha and protect her people from a neighboring clan. This novel wasn t for me I felt nothing for the couple The vampire was weak, the werewolf was annoying, and the story was rushed The author crams a lot into a very short period of time, le [...]

    18. This was my 1st Amanda Ashley book and I have to say that did really enjoy this book Except for one small part Kay our Heroine had to do something in order to spare the our hero from further harm, and I really don t like reading about that While I understand the whole bad guy using the you said you would do anything play, I still don t like it That being said I enjoyed the rest of the book I enjoyed Gideon Kay s story If it was not for fate and the twisted mind of a crazy witch these two would h [...]

    19. We first meet Gideon while he is being bled by his captor. He has by imprisoned by a witch who uses his blood to stay young. She supplies him with females to drainUntil she deposits Kay into his cellFor the first time he feels desire and she is unique she can provide the escape he has been craving for years. But she has to last until the full moon and the witch never fed the humans that she provided to GideonThis is just one of the hurdles that GK must survive. When they finally do escape they are t [...]

    20. I never expect too much from the adult paranormal fiction paperbacks I get from the library but this one surprised me I really want to give it 3.5 stars I saw a lot of reviews from other people calling it a YA novel The library where I got it had it listed as adult fiction and I completely agree with that Although the sex scenes are not as graphic as a lot of paranormal adult fiction, they still are plenty The two main characters are always going at each other This book would probably be enjoyed [...]

    21. Heat RatingI was given Desire the Night for and honest review by Manic ReadersKiya Kay wishes she could be free of her pack obligations but her controlling father has plans to marry her off to a man even worse than him She convinces her father to allow her a year of freedom away from the pack When her friend convinces her to go out and live a little everything goes horribly wrong or wonderfully right depending of perspective. The vampire Gideon has spent three years locked in silver chains and st [...]

    22. Desire The Night is another great story from Amanda Ashley This story draws you in from the beginning Gideon Marquet is a vampire that has been captured for the soul purpose of providing blood The unscrupulous witch Vera is using Gideon s blood to keep herself young and beautiful Many a person has been destroyed by Gideon due to starvation Vera keeps him at the brink of starvation to keep him secure Kiya Alissano is a shifter working at a veterinarian s as an assistant She has the talent to calm [...]

    23. I have a special spot in my heart for Amanda Ashley one of hers was my first romance novel ever But this was a disappointment from beginning to end The premise had promise, but we were left with a Romeo and Juliet plot that fell really flat, a hero and heroine with no chemistry whatsoever, and pretty much every character in this was wimpy and whiny at best the heroine or despicable Trigger warning for domestic violence, spousal rape, and suicide.Least sexy romance novel ever Waste of time Starte [...]

    24. This book was repetitive, dull, and lacking in common sense The heroine was constantly a let down She was such a whiny, no back bone having woman It was soooo hard to finish this book I got this book via audio I got to chapter 33 and tossed the case I managed to finish it because I was driving to work and in traffic There is a vampire, in the story But he has little to do with most of the story It s all about werewolf politics sigh I hated Kay

    25. Gideon is a vampire held prisoner for humans that use his blood to sustain youth Kay is the daughter of the Shadow Pack s Alpha who is caught by these women, and free s herself along with Gideon Gideon and kay try to resist there mounting attraction but end up giving in, which leads to some steamy scenes.

    26. Gideon Marquet is now my favorite vampire I love him and I love the way he talks, especially to Kiya I sometimes had to re read conversations because they were so good.I loved the book But for the first half of it I was thinking, OMG If they could just keep their hands off of each other for a minute, they might not get captured so much So good.

    27. dramatic, romantic, adventurous, dangerous, humorous i loved the fights thought it was ironic that the witch died because of her old age, and that vincent died because of his pride, arrogance and of course by Kay.i also like that jose was smart to not challenge Kay and not be blinded by revenge or power like the rest of his family.
